Who We Are
Building bridges between communities through dialogue, shared meals, and service since 2003.
Our Mission
Peace Islands Institute New York is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting interfaith and intercultural dialogue across New York City and beyond. Founded in 2003, we have spent over two decades creating meaningful connections between people of different faiths, backgrounds, and cultures — believing that understanding begins with relationship.
Our work is rooted in the conviction that lasting peace is built not in boardrooms or summits, but around dinner tables, in school gymnasiums, on basketball courts, and in living rooms. Through our programs — from Taste & Meet interfaith home dinners to the Hoops of One youth basketball initiative — we create the conditions for genuine human encounter.
We serve faith communities, educators, students, elected officials, artists, and everyday New Yorkers who believe that a more connected city is a more peaceful one. Our programs bring together Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and people of all backgrounds in shared experiences that break down barriers and build lasting friendships.
Peace Islands Institute New York is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are supported by donations from individuals, foundations, and community partners who share our commitment to a world where difference is celebrated rather than feared.

We believe honest, respectful conversation between people of different backgrounds is the foundation of peace.
Opening our homes, tables, and hearts to those who are different from us transforms strangers into neighbors.
